Why Pugsley and Lewis? I’d got to know Martin Pugsley and Tim Lewis through the Area 7 AMOC which is run by Winston Rouse who is also part of the Pugsley and Lewis team. Being a recent Aston owner, although an AMOC member for some years I was keen to ensure that my car was given the utmost attention. In chatting with the guys at the regular AMOC meetings I had mentioned that I was keen to call in to their facility and get some minor work done. My first visit followed in Feb 2018 which was to have trailing arms replaced and some other minor work. During this first visit I was given a tour of the workshop by Winston which included an in depth appreciation of the breadth of work that was being undertaken across many different Aston models. What became obvious was the level of passion and professionalism of the workforce. I picked up the car a couple of days later and the work as expected was completed to a high standard.

My recent visit for a service, replacement of bushes and all 4 tyres was once again a pleasure. I was kept informed throughout of the work being done along with a couple of pointers of areas that need to be carefully watched in the future. When I picked the car up, Martin and Winston were there to chat over the work that was done followed by picking up the car which was beautifully valeted inside and out.

Can’t recommend Pugsley and Lewis highly enough. Extremely professional and very passionate about the brand and I will certainly continue to trust them to look after my DB7 and any future models that I purchase.

"I first came across Puglsey & Lewis around 2004 when I lived locally and I asked them to inspect and report upon my first Aston, a 1998 V8 Coupe in Pentland Green.

This was swiftly followed by a 1966 DB6 which they totally restored. By then, “having the bug” more cars followed. They have now been restoring cars for me for over 15 years. I also introduced one of my best friends to them and he too has had several restorations carried out.

During that time I have found them to be consistently professional and always delivering work of the highest quality. Their wealth of experience, as borne out by their 30th-anniversary celebrations, always shines through and they consistently seem to be able to source the necessary parts. For me personally “front of house” is very ably served by Martin, who has a huge knowledge of mechanical matters. Engines and tuning by Tim who is simply a genius when it comes to getting these cars to run better than when they were new and the backup team of whom Anthony seems to be the one most saddled with our work. He too has built up an impressive knowledge base in all the years we have known him (probably since he was wearing short trousers!) and, like the guys, he is a pleasure to deal with and always enthusiastic.

They are incredibly user-friendly – turn up at any time to look at what is going on and it is never a problem. You will always get a smile and a cup of tea and a detailed update on where things are at. I think their forte is DB4 through to 1989 V8, but they do the modern stuff too to the same exacting standards. I don’t really think they enjoyed my DB2/4 but this did not dim their professionalism and enthusiasm as evidenced by the car winning the Hoghton Tower Autumn Concours in September 2018.
