Comprehensive restoration commissioned by previous owner and Aston Martin collector Mr Roger Duffer between 1990 - 1993.
GTC Engineering were entrusted to complete the restoration and considerable chassis work was under taken in 1990 including new floors, new inner wheel arches, repairs to corroded chassis members, new trailing arm mounts and jacking points etc.
The engine was fully rebuilt by Exiss engineering incorporating lighter valves, 4.2 litre liners, forged pistons, billet crank and Carrillo connecting rods and the gearbox was rebuilt by ZF.
Bodylines were commissioned to restore the metalwork which included new bonnet frame, the fabrication of a new rear valance, new front end panel, new outer sills and new door skins.
Paintwork was entrusted to Spraytec in 1993 who painted the DB5 from bare metal in the ever popular Aston hue of Silver Birch.
The interior was fully re-trimmed by Tove Trimming, North Hants and the car was finished at the end of 1993.
Acquired by the current owner through A M Heritage specialist Nicholas Mee & Co in 2000, maintained throughout his ownership by R S Williams and in more recent times Pugsley & Lewis.
Recent full service and engine detail including stainless steel exhaust manifolds, this DB5 shows just over 7,000 miles since its restoration and is in excellent structural and mechanical condition.
Having been used sparingly throughout the owners eighteen year tenure, this attractively priced DB5 drives very well indeed and is offered with comprehensive historical file documenting its previous restoration.
